Self Evaluation

Self Evaluation

Dear Student,

Contenders Discipleship Initiative uses a Narrative Evaluation approach rather than issuing a letter grade following a course of study. The Narrative Evaluation is a written assessment of each student that summarizes how the student performed and what they learned in the course taken.

The CDI Narrative Evaluation consists of two written assessments: your own self-evaluation completed at the end of each course, and if you are part of a CDI classroom, an assessment by your course mentor. In the case of self-study students who anticipate going into full-time ministry, it is very important to find a mentor who can review your progress and supply the course mentor assessment.

Your evaluation summarizes your accomplishments while taking the course, any new understandings achieved, and your goals for the future.

You will receive an email copy of your Self-Evaluation for your own records. The information will also be added to your CDI student record by our Learning Management System along with the Course Mentor’s Student Evaluation.

Your Self-Evaluation at the end of each course is necessary for the course to be considered completed. It is also an important of your CDI student record. Should you desire to apply to Village Missions or any other ministry after having finished all six CDI courses, your complete Narrative Evaluation would be submitted along with the Mentoring for Ministry checklist instead of a simple transcript.

God bless,
Ron Sallee
